Peirce Parent Support Welcome Tea 2016 ( 20 Feb 2016 )
The morning
started with the sharing of school and parent support group activities by chairman
Mr Wilson Chua. He encouraged parents to come on board to join PPSG to support
the school and at the same time support their child.
Next the school
coordinator also shared the various up and coming event activities for the parent
support group. We will be having our
annual parent and child parent bonding through laser tag for secondary 1
parents as well as The 7 Habits of Successful Families by FranklinCovey
for all levels
Why 7 Habits ? Currently your
kids are being exposed to the habits in school by the teachers, it would be
conducive if the parents also speaks the same lingo. It will help to cultivate
good habits that will help them in their future endeavours.
Coming April we will be starting the Triple P – Positive parenting workshop
The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program is one of the
most effective evidence-based parenting programs in the world, backed up by
more than 30 years of ongoing research. Triple P gives parents simple and
practical strategies to help them confidently manage their children’s behaviour,
prevent problems developing and build strong, healthy relationships.
Triple P is currently used in 25 countries and has been shown to work
across cultures, socio-economic groups and in many different kinds of family
structures. – Quote from Triple P Official Website
Just before our teabreak, our PPSG IDOL Mr Asrin shared with the parents on his parenting tips and tricks as well as how he has benefited from PPSG events and workshops.
Our welcome
tea ended with a nice chit chat over food and a PPSG family phototaking
Hope to see
everyone on our first PPSG meeting on the 26 Feb 2016 at 730pm at Peirce
Secondary Secondary.
